Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention & Control Policy 2020 

My priority is to keep you as safe as possible, and prior to opening I have implemented a number of changes which I would like to make you aware of. During lockdown, I have completed the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention and Control course which is accredited by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists Ltd, UK Trade body & Barbicide COVID-19 Certification Program. I have since made a number of changes in the way that I operate.

 

Booking Appointments

If I or any of my assistants feel ill or have symptoms of C0VlD-19, we will self-isolate immediately. This may mean that I will have to cancel your appointment at short notice. I appreciate that this may be inconvenient but it is done entirely for your own safety. If your appointment is cancelled you will be able to re-book or a full refund will be issued. If you or any of the people you live with feel ill or display any symptoms of C0VlD-19 – please advise us as soon as possible. You will not be charged for any appointments which you miss due to illness.

 

Your Appointment

We ask for your appointment station should be set up somewhere with good ventilation, ideally by an open window or in the open air.

Hand hygiene is the utmost of importance and will be in accordance with NHS recommendations. Both parties are asked to follow all government hygiene advice including coughing or sneezing into a tissue, disposing responsibly and re-washing hands. All tools and equipment will be disinfected or sterilised in line with the specific manufacturers instructions. Wherever possible we will utilise environmentally friendly, single use items during your appointment that will be disposed of safely after use in order to protect you from cross infection. 

We will practice makeup kit hygiene by: Using one set of makeup brushes per client only, then placing them into a sealed plastic bag until they can be cleaned using an appropriate antiviral cleaning fluid. Using disposable makeup tools where possible. Scooping makeup products onto a disposable palette or using a fresh brush for each application in order to reduce the risk of cross contamination through “double dipping”. Using disposable wipes and towels.

We will practice hair kit hygiene by: Using one set of makeup brushes per client only, then placing them into a sealed plastic bag until they can be to be sterilised in line with the specific manufacturers instructions. Using spray or pump products where possible in order to reduce the risk of cross-contamination through “double dipping”. Minimising the use of hairdryers wherever possible. Cleaning heated contact styling tools between each client to be sterilised in line with the specific manufacturers instructions. 

The use of personal protective equipment will be required during your appointment this may include disposable gloves, aprons, face masks & face shields. All disposable items are bagged and safely removed after the treatment. We will also have hand sanitiser available for you to use if needed.

 

 

After the treatment

In order to avoid using cash as much as possible if you could pay for your treatment in advance using BACS. All of these procedures have been implemented for your safety and ours. We will continue to take advice from the Government and the NHS regarding safe practice and will amend them as necessary. Thank you for your understanding.
